Purrfect Kitty Mission believes that helping cats goes beyond rescue. Community education, hands-on projects, fundraising events, and partnerships give our community meaningful ways to become involved in helping cats and kittens.
Below are examples of larger events, projects, and educational efforts we have done in the past. These examples represent the types of community activities Purrfect Kitty Mission may continue to offer throughout the year.
Major Community Events & Projects
Who Let the Dogs Out Crazy Golf Tournament
Our annual community crazy golf fundraiser brings together animal lovers, families, local businesses, vendors, teams, and supporters for a day centered around animal welfare. The event has included crazy golf, costumes, raffles and auctions, food, vendors, Kitty Putt Putt, and other activities, with proceeds benefiting Purrfect Kitty Mission and other participating local animal-welfare organizations.
Build-a-Kitty-House Community Project
A hands-on project focused on building outdoor shelters for community cats. Volunteers and community supporters help assemble shelters using foam coolers and straw to provide protected spaces for cats during cold weather. This project also gives community members an opportunity to learn about the needs of outdoor and community cats.
Community Spay/Neuter & TNVR/TNR Outreach
Purrfect Kitty Mission has participated in and supported community efforts focused on reducing the number of unwanted cats through spay/neuter, vaccination, return, and responsible community-cat management. These efforts include working with veterinary and animal-welfare partners and helping connect community members with available low-cost resources.
Cat & Kitten Adoption and Rescue Outreach
We have organized community outreach around cats and kittens needing homes, including adoption promotion, foster recruitment, emergency assistance, and educational posts that help connect animals with appropriate resources and potential forever homes.
Community Education & Rescue Workshops
Our educational efforts have included practical information about community cats, TNR/TNVR, fostering, kitten care, responsible pet ownership, outdoor cat shelters, and recognizing situations where a cat may need urgent veterinary or rescue assistance.
